On August 2008, the research team of the Environment and Ethnic Culture in the Brahmaputra Grand Canyon in the CASS/IEA, tripped to Motuo County of TAR. Motuo is the only county without highway link to the outside world among all of China’s 2,100 counties, as well as the last county where the Brahmaputra River crosses over in China before it flows to India. The County is mainly inhabited by the Menba and Luoba ethnic groups with a population of about 10,000.
